We are a group of amateur radio operators who live on the Oregon high desert plain that extends from the Cascade Mountains east into Idaho, North to the Columbia River and South to California. We are interested in having fun with all the varied facets of this hobby. We support many local events and our primary mission is public service to our community, the hams in the area and the Region 7 Hospital Group.

HiDARG maintains a system of linked repeaters that cover most of Central and parts of Eastern Oregon into the John Day and Burns area.... This enables an extensive area with communications via our network of open repeaters covering a lot of the high desert, the repeaters are linked together which allows repeater access across this area. In times of emergency these systems will allow various remote areas of the state to stay in contact with each other.

It is important to us to encourage others to engage in this hobby through licensing new hams, training, public activities, and helping licensed hams get on the air.

Our members interests range from making DX contacts, Packet, PSK-31, satellite contacts, CW, ATV, emergency communications, and with new technologies as they develop.

We will help you get licensed and on the air. Contact us if you have any interest in Amateur Radio!
